À PROPOS
Depuis plus de vingt ans, je construis un univers visuel où l’imaginaire dialogue avec le quotidien, entre humour, émotion et étrangeté.
Mon travail a connu plusieurs phases d’évolution. Les débuts étaient marqués par des lignes droites, des compositions plus rigides. Puis le mouvement s’est peu à peu invité, apportant une souplesse nouvelle, une ondulation douce dans les formes et les récits.
Aujourd’hui, cet élan se prolonge dans mes animations, où chaque tableau devient un petit théâtre vivant.
Mon graphisme aussi s’est affiné. Chaque élément est désormais traité avec une attention particulière, une touche dédiée. Rien n’est là par hasard.
Ce cheminement lent, parfois ponctué d’accélérations intenses, reflète une pratique libre mais rigoureuse, toujours ouverte à la surprise.
Mon travail a toujours évolué par phases lentes, marquées par le mouvement, la ligne, puis l’animation.

Valérie Lacalmontie's paintings do not impose constraints on the gaze but something light, peaceful, which emanates from them and invites the mind to serenity, to rest.
No straight line forcing the eye to fit into a completely geometric perspective, on the contrary, the entirety of his painting undergoes a gentle undulation which arouses movement and affirms the life of the daily scenes represented.
In his works, the constant curvature, the warmth of the colors and a certain timelessness ward off the ordinary and boredom. N.LC
